Step One
Our first step is to rescue a dog from the shelter or approve a veterans own Rescue Dog to go through Service Dog training.
This process includes testing the dog for positive attributes. Which includes personality, age, size, and health.
Then, fine-tuning exactly what the recipient needs their Service Dog to complete.

Step Three
Step three is to complete the Service Dog Training and receive Certification.
This process includes training each dog to the “Reliability Standard”, this is where complete trust can be put into the training. Someone’s very life is put into the hands of this dog.
At this point stress is alleviated from the person and family and this dog becomes an active part of the veterans assistance.
Here at K9 Rescue For Warriors, we don’t only believe in the power of a Service Dog, but also the power of bringing a community of like-minded people together.
That’s why, even after the completion of training, we have Monthly Pack Walks.
Doing this makes each step of the way more comforting and structured. Like a lantern on a dark road.
